It's Still There

Breakfast this Morning
asparagus omelet with grapefruit
coffee with soy milk

I got way off track this weekend. Here's how it went. Ice cream, candy, diet coke, sleep, repeat. With more than one Lifetime movie thrown in to break the monotony. And this will shock you...the thing that I ate to avoid, to forget about? It's still there this morning. Along with a busier than heck week of work ahead.

But the great news is that I am not beating myself up. I woke up not really even thinking about the weekend. I'm in a good state of mind, and I know it will be even better as I get my nutrition back on track.

How was your weekend?

Pat, no one is perfect, and sometimes we just need those type of weekends, and breaks from it all! My weekend and eating was on tract, I am sticking with my protein shakes though and have found one that is east to find and made with Stevia, even Kroger has them, it is the Designer Whey brand and I always steered clear of them before but they are coming out with some really natural healthy products. I find it helps cure that sweet tooth, and on their website they have all kind of recipes to use with them, see other people make "protein puddings" too! I figure if this is my one vice, so be it!

Pat, I feel ya. I had a Saturday filled with probably half a liter of coca-cola (I keep it for parties, cookouts) and multiple mini-packs of M&Ms (Valentine's leftovers). Can't even remember dinner. And since I was already so far off track, I decided to go for the J. Christopher's crunch cakes with syrup on Sunday. Definitely could have done without the Saturday overdose, but guess what? I'm glad for Sunday's. I enjoyed every bit of it.

I am glad you are not beating yourself up about your weekend Pat. That is progress for sure.

I ended up working late on Friday, which is never a good sign when it comes to food. I was starving and was not prepared at the office with additional snacks.

Saturday I went to the Braves game, and feel very strongly about what you should eat at Braves games, and there is no nutritional value in it, but at least I enjoyed it, right?

I think the stress of being down 4 people at work (on a team of 6) and the purchase/renovations that will begin this summer (I hope) at the new house are getting to me....

The word for the week for me is "no". I need a break from the grind so I put lots of "fun" activities in this weekend and ended up being too tired to enjoy them. Thankfully I have a week of vacation in June. Overall I'm enjoying the 3 on 1 off CFED WODs and have only missed one extra day in 2.5 weeks. Eating is going well especially given all of the above...no comment on the diet coke intake:-)

I am happy to report that I have prepared lunch for tomorrow and the next day. I have also cut up all my fruit for my morning snacks, so I will be able to grab and go tomorrow.

I need to remind myself on Sundays how much better I feel when I do my food prep ahead of time - and hopefully that will motivate me to keep it up.
