Happy 30th Birthday, Gnomes!

"Time and Tide wait for no man, but time always stands still for a woman of thirty."
- Robert Frost

I Wish For You...
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life.

just to clarify when I first tried to verify my post it was that I had to listen to this weird guy saying numbers, but now it is back to the normal word verification, not sure what happened....

Naomi, I hope you have a wonderful day! I can't wait to do the special Birthday WOD that Shana dreamed up in your honor. The 30's are a great decade. Life truly does get richer and sweeter with age!

Gnomes, Wishing you much happiness on your special day and for the coming year! Pat is right. Life does get better with age! Enjoy!

Sheryl - Thanks for the reminder to take a breath! I walked out of my office at 10 p.m. last night, exhausted and frustrated! When I saw your note, I finally took that breath and will approach today with a new attitude.

And, Pat, I will post no quotes today! :-) Thanks for letting me be a part of the blog!

Byron, honey sweetie, my BFF, you post all the quotes you want to post. I was only teasing, but I think because of your stressful day, my teasing may have been lost on you. Please forgive me for hurting your feelings. I would never do so intentionally 'cause I love you!

Pretty much, teasing is not a good idea, I've decided. I only want to lift up those around me, and my teasing pretty much never leaves people feeling uplifted. I will leave the teasing to others...

This may be the only time you see a photo of Gnomes out holding up a glass of water!!

Happy Birthday to an amazing person, a wonderful friend and a damn hot 30 year old!!

Gnomes- Great pic! Welcome to the 30's. I'm finally back in the state of Georgia but brought a wicked cold back with me. Hopefully I'll be back and working out this week. I miss CFED and you guys. I did have one good workout at CF San Fransisco. Have a great day!

Pat, there's gotta be room for playfulness, but you might be right. Words, even teasing words, are powerful.

Earlier this week Khalid said about Khalid or Khalid said about Naiya that the other had lied. It was in response to something silly like one saying the sky is red. So I said, "well, was he/she lying or 'just' teasing?" Khalid said, "what's the difference?" Instead of saying who the heck really knows I put on my authoritative mother voice and said something like "lying is intentional and hurtful because you're really trying to trick someone, but teasing is meant to be playful." He responded "I don't know mommy, in my class whenever one person teases it always turns out that someone else gets their feelings hurt." It made me think.

Byron, glad you're on the right track again!

Naomi, what a contrast between this pic and the one on the CFED blog! But you're beautiful on both.

You have some smart kids Sheryl!

It really does feel great to be surrounded by such amazing people. When I was in college, one of my professors told us that when we surround ourself with smart people, others will think we are smart...so thanks for being so smart. I enjoy surrounding myself with all of you.

I find the picture on CFED blog pretty amusing...I think I get in that position most days after the WOD....and Shana - I am drinking water right now - so there. No booze during the work day....

Thanks again for being such a wonderful group of people - and for starting this blog PatC! To think, it all started with a thought about cutting out sugar, and look at the journey we have all been on together!

Khalid is a wise young man.

I am so glad that you all let me hang out with you here! I agree with Sheryl that playfulness is important. Hey, be it far from me to be the one who results in no playfulness! I always enjoy playing!

My stress level has been through the roof this week. I apologize if I seemed to have been hurt. I just hate that I might have pre-empted another fabulous post here on the blog. I look forward to reading it everyday! It was the one bright spot this week!
