I love Skirt magazine. It's a free publication that you can pick up around town at various locations. You can also check them out online at: www.skirt.com.
I also love the art of Duy Huynh (pronounced yee wun). I had seen his work previously and then was reminded of him when I saw the December issue of Skirt. I love the cover art he did for Skirt in December...you'll have to check it out. I also love the painting I used on the blog today. I love the way the woman is creating her own wings for flight! The December cover art has the same theme--the idea of actively, purposefully creating your reality--at least that's the way I interpret these two pieces.
I should mention that Shana is the one who brought Skirt to my attention. Pretty much, she has some role in everything I do. =o)
I love Skirt( we should advertise CFED in it!!), I have been looking for the December issue, hopefully my Whole Foods will have it when I go shopping there next :)

It's feminine, but not in a stupid way like the "Lifetime" network "for women." I'd LOVE to invite one of their writers for a workout.
We get Skirt in Savannah, too. I always love the ads as one advertiser always has someone unexpected in a skirt (sometimes a kilt). It is fun to look through to try to find the unexpected Skirt. Perhaps you could run a CFED Ad with someone unexpected in a skirt? :-)
I plan to walk around downtown at lunch and enjoy this beautiful Spring day. It is 75 degrees in Savannah! I could easily forget that it is December but for the beautiful holiday wreaths, garlands, and light decorating the store fronts!

Well, my planned walk around downtown turned into lunch at my desk, but I did pick up the December issue of the Skirt in Savannah. It has a different picture by Duy Huynh on the cover, but one equally as beautiful, and it includes the following quote:
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it."

I think there is a lesson there for me, especially today! I hope others find some joy in it, too.
The art I used by Duy Huynh is not the same as the cover art for the December issue...I didn't want to steal everything from them. I loved the art on the cover so I went looking for more of his work. Love that quote...had planned to use it on the blog in the future...now I can't. =o)
Sorry! I did not mean to ruin the use of the quote for a future post! The quote just rang my bell today so I shared it. I am having one of those days when I wish I could crawl under a rock and hide from everyone. I am going to miss the gym tonight because I have to prepare files for hearings. It is a long, long story, and I will not bore everyone with the details! Let's just say I am bitter today!
But, Byron, the end of bitter is just a breath away...
Hi - I am Duy's girlfriend and business partner (Lark & Key Gallery). I just came across your blog and thought you would appreciate the name of the piece on the Skirt cover this month (for some reason they didn't list it). It is called - Always a Work in Progress.
