Two Down, Seven to Go

There are only seven weeks remaining in the Pin-Up Challenge! My first week was very good; my second week was pretty good; then I got totally off track on Friday night and Saturday. Yep, that's right--I derailed, fell off the wagon, had a blowout--pick your metaphor. But yesterday was a good day, and I am back on course. After coffee-talk yesterday afternoon with Shana, Sheryl, and Melissa, I was motivated to plan my meals for the week and grocery shop. This approach worked well for me the first week, so I decided to do it again this week. Brilliant! =o)

So let's hear from everyone. How's it going with the goals? If you need help, be sure to ask. If things are going well, please share that also! It will encourage and motivate the rest of us!

Thanks for the pic post on the CFED blog this AM Shana, I was having a little bit of frustration this weekend----have cramps, feel like all of this work isn't going anywhere---but now I see what you and Gnomes both said this week. I definitely look leaner:-)

Overall i have been good with my challenge. I have only eaten 3 meals out of the zone. This week I am going to work on volume. I think that even though I am choosing zone friendly meals and snacks I still eat 'cause I'm bored, stressed, etc., etc.

Have a great week!

I am glad you can see it Meeks. You are most def. looking leaner.

I love the cartoon this morning. I need to file a restraining order on the pizza man for sure.

I also planned my meals for hte week and went to the grocery store last night. I made meatloaf and veggies last night - but instead of having the extra serving of meat, I probably should have made more veggies. Live and learn. Heading out to Philly for a day, will be back late Tuesday night. We will see how I eat on the road. I will be in a conference room all day with food screaming my name (pastries, etc). Ick!

Also - about flax - I bought some on Saturday in seed form, have ground it up, and now do I just sprinkle on my food? Is there a difference between golden and brown flax?

You're looking good, Meeks. Your efforts are certainly paying off.

Naomi, good luck with your meeting and the travel. You can do it. It's harder when you are out of your normal routine, but you can do it. Remember your upcoming birthday and the goal you set for yourself. The pastries are just a fleeting pleasure and not worth it.

Funny Meeks, yesterday at the gym and this morning when I saw your pic on the CFED blog that's exactly what I thought -- she's looking leaner.

First day on my goal journey -- had a balanced breakfast.

Good morning.

Meeks~ You definitely look lean. THe stomach looks flat too! :o)

Yay Sheryl for eating breakfast! I love breakfast!

I went to the store and cooked last night. Actually got my whole lunch prepared so I just had to stick it in the bag and go.
Today I am having chicken with collard greens and some brown rice for lunch.
Tonight I am having mahi mahi with a mango marinade and probably some broccoli. Yay!

I've been doing well, but bought nuts at YDFM last night and have already eaten too many. =o(
That's okay, though, because it only takes 1 meal to get back in the zone (and possibly a nap) so no guilt here!
Didn't work on OHS at all last week, with all those heroes- who had the energy?
Am planning on working on them today instead of the deadlifts... I am very sore from Mr. Joshua yesterday! I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

I'm swamped at work today... but I am not going to lie, I might not post so much because I really REALLY do not want to read about food. Soorrryyyyy.

Just think if I started posting about chocolate chocolate chocolate all the time! HAHAHA

See y'all tomorrow probably!! Smooches.

p.s. I love that picture I took too. You ladies look STRONG yet serene... an air of confidence exudes from all of you in that pic.

Kath, glad you dropped in to say hello. As for not posting too often, no worries. The whole point of this is for everyone to do what's best for them. Individually. No two of us are alike. So if that means not posting for days at a time, do what's right for you. We know you still love us ;)

If it helps any, I'll stop talking about food. I've already eaten it. Actually ate my lunch at like 10:30am this morning.

Anyhoo...my shoulder is feeling better. Two liquid Aleve's seemed to help.

I don't want to say that no one can ever post a comment about food, but I think keeping it more matter-of-fact is a good idea. I certianly want my focus to be on other things BESIDES food. So maybe let's scale back on the adjectives. Kath was straight-forward enough last week to say it's hard for her to read the descriptions of food. (She was bold enough to say it; there may be others who won't say it, but have the same feeling). So I think we should respect that. On the other hand, mentioning food is not off-limits, and is perfectly appropriate depending on the circumstance. For example: Gnomes is trying to avoid eating the pastries in her meeting tomorrow, and she mentioned that in her comment. Perfectly ok. Not ok would be a description of all the different pastries, how they smell, etc.

I can live with that. It's not food persay... it's the glowing & adoring descriptions that sets my mouth watering that messes with my head! HAHA So basically Melissa, if you weren't such a good descriptive writer and didn't make your meals sound SO ENTICING (hehe) I might do okay with that. I truly appreciate the consideration.
I'm just weak today, and screwit anyways, I had a 500 calorie freaking pastry out of the vending machine anyways (sigh) so OHHH WEELLLLL. (eyeroll)
Do over.

Well I kind of liked hearing what people were eating, oh well...
I think I am doing okay with the Challenge, little lapse Saturday night during gator game, not with desserts but the beer consumption, that was my cheat day! I have two consecutive pullups, so need only 3 more to equal 5. Went ahead and took another rest day today, no way was I going to do more dead lifts after Friday, I am still so sore.
